Fees, escrow and safety

Who pays what, where your coins sit, and what the contracts can and cannot do.

Fees

The buyer pays 0.50% on top of the agreed price. In markets #1 to #25 the whole fee goes to the market’s launcher. From #26 the launcher gets 0.25% and Swapmeet 0.25%. Posting, cancelling and launching carry no Swapmeet fee.

Escrow

A sell offer deposits the coins; a buy offer deposits the ETH plus the maximum fee. When an offer is partly filled, the rest stays reserved. Cancel any time to get the unfilled part back; unused fee reserve is refunded automatically.

What the contracts can’t do

  • Nobody can withdraw funds held in escrow except the offer’s maker.
  • Fee rates and a market’s fee wallet are fixed in code.
  • The contracts cannot be upgraded. The owner can only pause new trades; cancels and refunds still work.

What you should still check

Anyone can open a market for any token, including fake copies. Check the token contract address against the project’s official links, and start small. The contracts have not had a third-party audit yet.
