What an OTC market does for your coin

Why a holder-to-holder market protects the chart, and what it can’t do.

Most memecoins have one place to trade: a liquidity pool. Every sell goes through it, and a big sell pushes the price down for everyone. That is why a single whale wanting out can scare a whole community.

Meet the other side instead

An over-the-counter market lets a seller and a buyer agree on a price and swap directly. On Swapmeet the coins wait in escrow until someone takes the offer, and the swap happens in one transaction through the exchange contract.

  • The seller exits without dumping the chart.
  • The buyer gets a size they could not buy from a thin pool without slippage.
  • The market’s launcher earns a fee on the trade.

What it can’t do

An OTC trade does not lock anyone’s tokens. The buyer can sell elsewhere later, and other trading still moves the price. OTC gives holders another way out and another way in; it does not promise a price.
